Who are we?
GOUNDREY’S started off as a seed of an idea at the end of 2023. Archie Goundrey, the creator of GOUNDREY’S was working in the furniture industry after finishing his studies at Rycotewood furniture school in Oxford.
During the time in industry, the volume of waste product and extreme disconnect with materials really struck a chord with him. He was coming to the realisation that the furniture industry is not what he expected. Instead, he wanted to use his making skills to celebrate the beautiful materials and inspire an appreciation for the timber and craftsmanship.
For me, using timber to create gives an immense feeling of satisfaction. It’s a beautiful medium that not only immensely grounding but is also exceedingly technical once you start to dig a little deeper.

Goundrey’s is not just about the final product, our packs allow our customers to be a part of the making process, whilst also learning about the technical side of woodwork and wood science/anatomy. Our packs come with a how to guide, which not only talks the maker through how to craft the items, but also includes easy to digest technical information about traditional construction of the kit.
Having education built into our core values means we’re able to foster a more accessible approach and widen the access to beautifully bespoke items.
